To compliment our range of hydraulic shock absorbers for our RC models, we stock a range of oil to give you options in your suspension performance.
Suitable for all RC models with hydraulic suspension systems. This is premium silicone oil for durability and consistent performance.
Application is easy due to the suitably design bottle that allows accurate positioning.
Oil viscosity ranges from 100-2000 cSt (10-200WT) and supplied in 60ml bottles; plenty of oil for multiple projects!
Stock oil is typically 400-500 cSt, so you can choice either side of this for different performances.

Which oil is for you?
Oil type depends on the weight and characteristics of your model type and you should be willing to experiment to get the performance you want. You can use different oils on the front/rear to give a more fine-tuned experience.
For a typical 1/10 4WD race car, you need a balanced suspension, so a viscosity of around 300-500cst is suitable.
For a 1/10 off-road buggy where suspension needs to be fast, 250-400 will likely do you well, but you may want a slightly lighter oil on the rear than the front.
Off-road crawlers can very greately depending on your model and how you use them. Light models would need a lighter oil of 200-300cst for the suspension to function, but heavier models may perform better with 400-800cst. Top-heavy models, such as the MN90-99, may benefit from a stiffer suspension to avoid rolling.
For larger models such as a 1/8 scale, consider adding another 200 cst to these figures to counter the extra weight
Generally speaking, heavier oils are suited to rough terrain for the most suspension travel, whereas fast models on smoother, race-track style surfaces need a lighter oil for higher responsiveness.
