Suspension
The MN82 has a light chassis so only required basic suspension with standards shocks at the front and with leaf spring suspension at the rear. Upgrading the front if worthwhile and looks great, but we only recommend changing the leaf spring setup if you plan to use heavy cargo loads, due to how stiff it will become. You will need a single pair of shock mounts for the front upgrade.
Axles
Metal driveshafts and prop-shafts are more durable, smoother and the added weight reduces a top-heavy setup. The standard driveshafts are a metal replica of the original portal axles with a 4mm shaft bore, so you may need copper sleeves as provided with our metal driveshaft kits. The ball joint versions provide improved performance, but need to be lubricated with our lithium grease packs. Please use our guide to identify the shaft length you need.
Motors
The standard 280 motors are limited, particularly with heavier, upgraded models. Our 370 motors make a significant difference in speed and torque, and fit snugly within the original shells. We provide these with a full metal transmission unit, making them an easy plug + play upgrade. We leave the standard power cables detached, so you can either use these, or attach cables suitable for a customer build.
