Clearing Out for a Good Cause
Share
It's our annual clear-out and we are again working with the Samaritan's Purse to bring joy to children across the world.
As part of their Operation Christmas Child, Samaritan's Purse works with groups to put together Christmas shoe boxes full of gifts, to be sent to children in poor social-economic areas across the world. To do this, they rely on donations and support in the overall costs of the operation.
We're happy to support the charity again this year with a toy bundle donation and even had time to send staff over to help out. The team at Christ The Servant church, Stockwood, gave us a guide on the operation on site and we had a chance to meet and work with the volunteers.
It was quite fun trying to cram as many toys, clothes and useful items into a single shoe box. As well as a mix of toys, they include essential items, such as flannels, toothbrushes and clothes. They even make a point of include a 'wow' toy at the top of the box to give a big surprise for the children when opening them.
It's gestures like this that can bring some joy to children in the worst places in the work. Credit goes to the team, the charity and the volunteers for running such a wonderful operation. We look forward to continuing our support in the future.
